Kennett Square Backyard Wedding

Jack and Chloe planned a relaxed, backyard wedding in the Kennett Square area, focusing on time with their people rather than a packed schedule or formal production. Their day was personal and intentionally low-key, an approach that lends itself naturally to documentary wedding photography.

The day started off at Fairville Inn in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania and from there, guests gathered in a field near Jack’s parents’ home for the ceremony, followed by a backyard reception under the stars. Dinner was provided by a food truck, Pitruco’s Pizza, based out of Philadelphia. Guests mingled freely, kids ran around the yard, and the night felt more like a gathering than a formal reception.

Posed portraits were kept minimal by design. Jack and Chloe chose to do family photos and just a few relaxed portraits together, leaving the rest of the day open to unfold naturally. This allowed space for candid moments and real interactions, which are my absolute favorite to photograph on a wedding day.
